More about Marylou P....
What do you love about your job?
I love emotion, expression & interaction. I love capturing the true "spirit" of a person. The addiction part comes in when you show them the final product & THEY fall in love with your work. I was hooked.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Weddings & portraiture. First weddings. I approach every wedding systematically. I mean, every wedding or bride & groom has a method to the flow of the photography. However; I am ALWAYS ready at every wedding to be somewhat different in that approach. So, diversity is a must. I want every single wedding I photograph to tell a story of their love, their special day including the joy of all the guests that share this day with them.
Secondly portraiture. Every portrait session should be exclusive to the client & their personality. So for example, if I'm photographing a senior, I like for them to bring props of things their interested in such as a guitar or musical instrument, any sports gear like a basketball, or take them someplace that illustrates their interests.. I had a client once that loved to travel & was going to Italy after graduation so I took him to the airport & was able to capture that passion. It was so much fun. I ALWAYS try to make whatever session I'm involved in fun for the client. I find this mindset makes for more natural photographs & capturing the true essence of the person.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I received 1 st place in a local art show and an honorable mention in another show.
A fun fact about this photographer
I studied drama in school & performed with a community theater group for 4 years. One of my regular clients had a daughter that was getting married on the beach in Hawaii & flew me out to photograph her special day which was so much fun!
