Matt is a professional photographer based in London with over 5 years experience working across a variety of briefs for different clients, brands and outlets.

He has experience in many different facets of photography including portrait (personal and commercial), documentary, event, wedding, lifestyle and drone (aerial) as well as video creation.

Matt is engaged primarily with capturing moments that naturally reflect people in their environments, their relationships with each other and their wider roles and functions in a community. He endeavours to find the natural moments between the more obvious ones, capturing and portraying true emotion.

He is also intrigued by perception; how every depiction of an object or space can be altered radically and portrayed so differently after a slight change of angle or point-of-view, particularly from an aerial perspective.

Matt has had an exhibition of work made in Hong Kong, has showcased selected images and video exhibited at a ‘TedX’ event in Ho Chi Minh City and has had many publications in different media outlets through different briefs throughout his career.

He is also a commercially qualified and fully insured drone photographer / pilot.

More about Matt P....

What do you love about your job?

I love the being able to use my creativity and work ethic to help find or generate powerful imagery. Being able to tell a story through a single shot is the reward I always drive obtain in every shoot. And working with new people and providing them with a service they enjoy and a product they can hopefully cherish is real plus.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have completed fashion / product shoots for new brands working with models and I enjoyed helping to make the models feel at ease allowing them be more expressive with their faces, movements and emotions.

I have worked with refugees, documenting their plight in Calais, France. That was particularly special to me, as I wanted to represent them as honestly as I could whilst also showing the awful situations they were forced into without obviously over stepping any mark / potentially exploiting them. It required a lot of communication and I encountered people I will never forget but it felt like really important work.

I have also completed lots of drone shoots and in particular instance I captured thousands of long exposure shots of traffic at night, before knitting them together in post to create abstract light movements to show how the city came to life.

Every shoot I go on feels like an experience and they all become special in their own way. Those moments will never happen again, so what's captured is special.
