More about Max O....

What do you love about your job?

What I love most about photography is the ability to capture moments that people may not even realize are happening. A genuine expression, a quiet interaction, or a fleeting shift in light can become something meaningful when it is preserved in a photograph. I also enjoy the creative challenge of constantly improving. Every shoot is an opportunity to refine my eye, experiment with composition, and create images that people will value and revisit for years to come.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have photographed a wide range of subjects including corporate events, professional sports collaborations, fashion events, healthcare environments, and both indoor and outdoor portrait sessions for individuals and groups. I have also spent years photographing landscapes, travel destinations, astrophotography, wildlife, and animals. What makes each shoot special is my focus on observation and timing. I pay close attention to light, composition, and natural interactions so the final images feel authentic rather than staged.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

While I have not received formal photography awards yet, I am currently being mentored by an award-winning photographer whose work has been published by National Geographic. Through this mentorship I am actively refining my portfolio, storytelling approach, and technical craft while working toward producing photography at the highest professional level.

A fun fact about this photographer

A fun fact about me is that I am currently building a photography project focused on astrophotography and the people who lead stargazing expeditions. I grew up in the city and did not see truly dark skies until 2022, when I witnessed the Milky Way for the first time while traveling in Peru. That experience completely changed how I think about the night sky. Since then, I have made it a point to seek out dark sky locations and learn from the guides who help others experience the stars. My goal is to document these experiences and tell the stories of the people who dedicate their lives to preserving stargazing as a shared human experience.
