More about Melina G....
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to connect with people and capture their true selves. Every shoot is a chance to tell a story, whether it’s through a portrait, a fashion session, or an event. I enjoy the creativity, the challenge, and the satisfaction of turning moments and emotions into images that people will cherish. Photography is also my personal space for creativity, where I can bring my ideas to life—a process I find truly amazing, turning a thought into something tangible that then exists freely in the world.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have worked on a wide variety of shoots, including portraits (personal, artistic, and corporate), fashion sessions, and events of all kinds. What makes each shoot special for me is that every project involves different people, so each one is unique and will never happen exactly the same way again—and being aware of that makes it truly special. I focus on capturing authentic emotions and personalities, while also experimenting with lighting, composition, and styling to turn each session into a meaningful and distinctive experience.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
My photographs have been published in several news publications covering current events. For example, multiple media featured my photos of the official meeting between the president and board of directors of Al Ahly FC and the president of FC Barcelona at Camp Nou. Local media also used my images for events such as the 2024 Cursa de los Nassos (Barcelona’s annual New Year’s Eve race), as well as other community events, including the 2024 Fiestas Mayores of Sant Andreu and La Porkada del Clot 2024.
A fun fact about this photographer
When I want to achieve something, I’m very resourceful—a real asset in this profession. In my early years, when I didn’t have all the right gear, I had to use whatever I could find. I used bed sheets as backgrounds, secured reflectors with clothespins, and did pretty ridiculous things to get the perfect shot, like crawling under tables at events to get a unique angle, dancing ridiculously to get kids to look in the right direction, and even throwing random objects at people to make them laugh naturally. Those crazy moments taught me that a mix of creativity, determination, and a good sense of humor can go a long way in photography!
