More about Micaela S....
What do you love about your job?
I’ve always been drawn to the idea of a world beyond my own - one that’s open to interpretation. Photography became that interpretation for me. My job is to create an environment where my subjects feel comfortable, and more importantly, heard. I engage with them. I listen. I connect. Through that connection, genuine moments unfold, and that’s what I love most about what I do.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I’ve photographed a wide range of people - performers, dancers, actors, musicians, families, and everyday individuals who simply want to capture a meaningful moment in their lives. Each shoot is a collaboration, shaped by the personality and energy of the person in front of the camera. I focus on creating a relaxed, comfortable space where people feel seen and at ease. Whether it’s a professional portrait or a candid lifestyle session, I look for the small, genuine moments that make each story unique and authentic.

A fun fact about this photographer
Before becoming a photographer, I was a materials scientist and earned my DPhil from Oxford University. My scientific background taught me to notice subtle details and patterns—an approach that naturally carries into my photography. I also trained in classical ballet for a few years, which gave me an appreciation for movement, form, and rhythm. Together, those experiences shape the way I see and capture the world through my lens.
