Michael Lowe is an experienced photographer that has worked with many clients, many of which have worked with him multiple times, around the State of Alaska. As a lover of knowledge Michael spends as much time learning from master photographers as well as working in the field with clients. This love of knowledge has given him the ability to teach new photographers about the basics of photography and help them to elevate their work to a more professional level. This has also given him a drive to always be better and to take every opportunity and photo shoot to elevate his photography to a higher level.
I love to make images that are "real life but better." One of the reasons that I never just slap presets on my photos is because each photo shoot is different in both mood and who I am working with. When I send finished images to a client one of my favorite responses from the client is when a client cannot believe that they look that good.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done real estate photography and I take time to make sure that the rooms are clean and there is nothing distracting in the shots. I have done family photography and the kids are by far the most fun to work with. In most shoots I try to knock out all of the standard shots and then I ask the parents to let the kids play so I can get a few candids that really show off the personality of the kids. I have done maternity photography and having two kids myself I love working with clients that are starting or continuing a family. It is the best and scariest time of any mother's life and I work to capture the wonder of the moment. I have done infant photography and I have to say, as a Dad, I have so much fun working with little ones. It is my chance to remember how I felt when my two kids were knee high to a grasshopper. I have done event photography whether that be weddings, corporate events or small get togethers. Each has its own challenges but they also have their own benefits that I am able to push to the forefront. At weddings I want the Bride and Groom, Bride especially, to feel like they are the stars of the day and that I am there to help them shine and that the images will be timeless works of art. Conversely, at corporate events I want to make sure I am getting shots that will work well on social media and websites.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I have been published in the local newspaper as well as a few blogs. My work appears regularly on a fashion website called La Passion Voutee.
