What do you love about your job?
I love building relationships and making strong connections with the people I meet. It's the immediate connection that allows me to take great photos as I am able to bring out the best in my clients, whether they're very young children or grown ups. I enjoy getting to know clients, helping them feel comfortable during a photo shoot and being able to capture an emotion, a feeling, a memory. When doing event photography, the one thing I enjoy the most is being able to see the beauty in the mundane. I pride myself in having a good eye, seeing things in a different light and highlighting special moments.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
Recently, I did a series of glam, modern and contemporary portraits for women 35 and above. All the ladies that signed up have had no previous experiences doing any type of modeling and were naturally feeling anxious and awkward. I made the photo shoot a special experience for them by inviting a hair and make up-artist and providing a variety of gowns and dresses that they could choose from. Including these elements in the shoot helped my clients feel comfortable, confident and special as they were pampered and glammed up for their session.

A fun fact about this photographer
When not out and about with a camera, I work with young kids (ages 3-6) and they keep me busy and on my toes all day long. I am also a professional percussionist and enjoy drumming on African djembes and Middle Eastern doumbeks!
