In order to transition from a hobbyist to professional, she immersed herself in continuous photography classes where she learned the technical skills and composition aspects of what makes for a good picture. In the past few years, Patricia has taken photography workshops with world renowned wedding and portrait photographers Ryan Schembri, Susan Strippling, Jide Alakija and Jesse Rinka.
Photography allows me to use different parts of my personality, it’s analytical, creative and provides an opportunity to meet people. Calling something creative that causes me joy a job doesn't really sound fair.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have photographed weddings, engagements, anniversaries, graduation, portraits and events. My goals are to allow my clients feel comfortable and look their best in pictures. I have also realized that photographers should deliver the expected pictures, but should also include something with a creative flair. Using varying depth of field, lens which changes scales, shooting through things can add interesting elements.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
In my first photography project, I was contacted by the Graftobian make-up company announcing they were going to use my images for an email marketing campaign and that they were we’re allowing me to claim sponsorship by them. I am told they are very selective with whom they use. I've been featured in blackbridesdaily blog.
A fun fact about this photographer
While I am tone- death, I love to dance! I can follow almost every social dance except the quickstep. But I love love to do everything, all my Latin dances, and I can foxtrot, swing, west coast swing and Argentinian tango. Mark Anthony, Frank Sinatra are both my jam.
