Perry has had a passion for photography for over a decade now. He keeps building on his past experience to where he now includes drone photography as one of his new loves. He has experience in portrait, family events, parades, commercial, architectural, automotive and landscape photography. He loves the way a camera not only captures a slice of time, but what it can bring to the viewer as well. It could be a smile, a thought or a memory of days gone by, this is what he does best. He views photography as a form of art in which light is the brush that dries the paint. He is easy going and full of wit, so no pressure!

More about Perry A....

What do you love about your job?

A slice of time can never be repeated, but it can be captured. Once captured it can bring back the memories from yesteryear, or install passion. Photography does this for me. It allows me to share people's special time back with them. It allows me to share people's love for whatever that might be like family, architecture or an automobile.

A quick story - I was hired to take photos at a new pier in White Rock, BC from the city. There were many people around for the re-opening. There was a small hill in which 2 children were rolling down through the grass. I approached the mother and asked if I could take their picture, she said sure. So after I took the pictures I showed them to the mother who almost wept. She said she could never get that kind of picture before. There is a sense of accomplishment when your client looks in the camera screen and almost cries because of what you can capture. All the research, editing and fall to the wayside when you can bring joy to others in the process, its like a sense of giving. This is why I love photography.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done portrait, wedding, automotive, event (family or city) and landscape. I make them special by immersing myself into the task at hand. I have also been in the situation on the other side of the lens so I have very good idea of the requirements, but always keeping the customer requirements first.
From being married, having family events, owning a classic car or building a house, I understand the value of what or who it is that I am taking a picture of knowing that this moment cannot be repeated.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

None so far, but I have not entered any competitions either.

A fun fact about this photographer

I grew up on a farm and that taught me a hard work ethic. I studied Architecture and am now an Electrical Engineer. This was not an easy process but one that I am glad I did because it allowed me to travel around the world teaching Engineering skills to other nations. By taking advantage of those skills I was able to rebuild the engine in my classic car as well as built the house my family and I live in. It was laborious but it also gave a great sense of accomplishment. I love to tinker, as well as be a Dad.
