More about Sheila C....
What do you love about your job?
My love of photography really started with emotion. Seeing people on there wedding day or the day their baby is born and being able to capture those quiet, intimate and once in a life time moments are what drew me to photography. The ability to turn them into timeless memories that have a way to draw you right back to that moment and the way you felt in it is something I think sticks with you. Seeing people tear up because they look at the wedding images years later but remember how they felt in that very moment is the reason why I do what I do. Time goes by so fast and savoring certain parts of life is so important in remembering where you came from and what you have experienced.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done a variety of different shoots but I think most often I work with people. My goal is to always get natural looking poses. I spend time just before I start shooting chatting with the couples or families, especially if there are children. People can become very nervous having a camera pointed at them, especially if they don't know who is on the other side. I like for my subjects to get comfortable with me and know just a little bit about what the steps are so that they are eased as the process takes place. I think making people laugh and knowing just the right moment to take the picture captures people in the moment.
