Growing up in Houston, TX, Yero was always backstage in a theater following her mother's acting career. She's witnessed “Black Magic” first-hand. Yero would always have her camera out for her scrapbook, taking shots of all the special moments…people getting into character or set designers building a castle in an auditorium. Now that she’s older, she realizes the "magic" is not just in the theater, but that there is beauty in everything. Her eye finds the unique beauty in all that she sees; from a mural on the street, to a kid eating ice cream on the porch or a couple seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. Life is full of beautiful moments; you just have to find the right angle to capture them.

More about T.A. Y....

What do you love about your job?

Photography is my super power! I FREEZE TIME! The cliche saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" is what makes taking photos so much fun! Seeing the reaction on someone's face when you show them their photo, them seeing themselves through your lens, it can be so fulfilling!

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

For a birthday shoot, I had a client in front of a professional camera for the first time so she was super nervous, so when she arrived for her session time, I have music going, some fruit snacks and we joked the entire time so that she could relax. I didn't want it to feel like a session because then her smile would not be genuine. She was able to relax and smile, and she ended up loving her photos!

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

Listed as one of the Top 3 Photographers in the Leo Weekly's 2022 Readers Choice.
Selected three times for the WOW Wedding segment in Louisville's TOPS Magazine.
Selected a one of the only female photographers to have their work displayed in the Speed Art Museum's Promise, Witness, Remembrance exhibit which honored Breonna Taylor (Summer 2021)

A fun fact about this photographer

As much as a love photography, my first love is the theater! Often times you will catch me singing a tune or busting a move in-between shots!
