More about Thomas K....
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about photography is the variety. Every assignment is different, with new people, locations, challenges, and opportunities to be creative. I enjoy meeting people and making them feel comfortable in front of the camera, as well as solving the technical and creative challenges that come with each shoot. Even after more than 20 years as a professional photographer, I still get excited about creating an image that both my client and I are proud of.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I’ve photographed a wide range of assignments, including corporate and environmental portraits, events, products, food, interiors, architecture, hospitality, lifestyle, and industrial environments. I approach every shoot a little differently based on the client and subject. Sometimes that means creating dramatic lighting for a commercial image, making someone feel relaxed and natural for a portrait, or carefully composing and lighting a space to bring out its best features. I try to bring creativity and attention to detail to every assignment so the finished photographs feel distinctive rather than simply documenting the subject.
A fun fact about this photographer
When I’m not behind the camera, you can often find me out sailing—or searching for a really good Americano.
