I am internationally published in fashion, fine art, and boudoir.
Though completely self taught, I have always, and continue to, absorb every bit of information I can from other industry professionals. I photograph professional models, and the everyday woman. I shoot for brands with teams of 20, and receive items from brands to style and shoot by myself. I have the ability to adapt to high demand situations, or simply "show up and shoot" (we all know there is much more to it than that).
During the summer of 2010, I had the honor of being asked to join a team in Paris, France for Haute Couture Fashion week under Elle Magazine's Steven Silverstein (Cover Photographer). This experience broadened my knowledge and understanding of the Fashion industry on both professional and personal levels which, I believe, changed my entire outlook for my business and created inspired success.
Mostly? Collaboration. I love meeting different people with unique visions and combining them with my own in order to create something that is truly a mixture of artistic ideas. Every photograph is a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork that conveys the human experience. Though a new client may be a complete stranger, there is always a unique bond created through the process of collaboration, which continues to inspire me to create through photography.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have literally done every type of shoot imaginable over the past 10 years. I think was is most important is that you find a way to connect with your client in a personal way so that they feel at ease with you. Having your photo taken is a very vulnerable experience, so making them feel "at home" with you is key. Draw on who they are and what makes them unique so that your images speak to not only you and your fans, but your clients' as they will share their experience with everyone.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I have been nationally and internationally published in many magazines and online publications over the years.
A fun fact about this photographer
My husband was the drummer in the Blood Hound Gang (that band that you saw in monkey suits on TRL... not bragging, haha!). He's still cute though. ;)
