More about Trevor B....
What do you love about your job?
I love the power of photography. I love History and being one to help write and tell history, from humanities history together, to the history of a single couple, I love every second of the privilege I have to put my name on history. I am among many great names and some have done far greater than I but I love belonging to such a special group. To quote some very successful photographers, "It has been the way that I have experienced much of the world. In a deeply personal way, I feel each image is a poem about time, about “staying the moment.” Photography can defeat time. Images can keep the memory of a loved one alive, hold a moment in history for future generations, be a witness to tragedy or joy. They can also change behavior, stimulate understanding and create a sense of urgency that will move people to action. Photography is the universal language that speaks to the heart.”- Sarah Leen, Director of Photography, National Geographic. I love that my job as a photographer is the dedicated, passionate and sometimes half-crazy individual who is willing to give their lives, to show us what needs to be seen, what needs to be known. I can think of no greater honor or privilege than to have lived a life surrounded by images and the amazing individuals who create them and share them with us.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done all types of shoots in the past and I usually try to really capture the event for what it was or the people for who they are beyond just that moment. I have done engagement where the couple plays a game and I capture the genuine smiles and laughter. Each shoot is a little bit different and unique and I try to capture all of it in the way the subject is most natural and genuine. I stop time and give them the moment for how they had it.
