More about Val W....
What do you love about your job?
I love to capture small, intimate moments that are strong enough to stand alone and rich enough to be a part of a much larger story. When a client says “That’s exactly what I wanted,” I’m happy with the project. When they say “This is beautiful! I didn’t even see that when we were there,” I am ecstatic.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
When I shoot events like a motorcycle rally that draws 400,000 people, the Virginia City camel races, the Reno River Festival, or the Nevada Day Parade I strive to capture spontaneous moments in time that illustrate the authentic humanity and the richness of the world around us. People tell me that I’m approachable and that they have fun when I take their picture. Working in the studio, or outdoors shooting still lifes, I dive deep into my technical expertise and am able to amplify and emphasize subtle details in that other people miss.
