How did you get started with photography

I originally felt I was a filmmaker since the age of 8. I loved to show others the images that I saw. In high school soccer got in the way of yearbook photographer. By the time I reached college i bought an old manual pentax and to a basic black and white course. The following year my uncle dug up his old CanonAE1 and I never looked back. Eventually I was won over by my first Nikon. An F4 that had been refurbished after a fall down a cliff in Big Sur. As of 2019 I am really enjoy my Sony A7r3!

What do you love about your job?

I think it's finding the beauty in all things. Whether it be a fashion model or a chef cooking on a hot stove. I'm always striving for better, cleaner, clearer images that can bring to life the moment captured. I often think of these as time capsules that bring joy or emotion to the viewer time and again.

What are some of your favorite places in Monterey to take photographs?

By far this is one of the most diverse areas in California. Big Sur is always majestic fair weather or not. Carmel Valley is so rustic, I often opt for both for contrasting looks. As in I'll ask for an engagement session at the beach if the wedding is in the countryside and vice versa.
