Lynne T Murphy’s passion for photography began in childhood with her very first camera, sparking an early fascination with capturing the world around her. As a young adult, she also found herself in front of the lens as a model, where she developed a deep appreciation for the creativity, technical skill, and artistic vision of the photographers she worked with. That dual perspective shaped her intuitive understanding of both subject and storyteller. After taking an introductory black-and-white photography course in college, Lynne purchased her first SLR camera upon moving to South Africa, where she immersed herself in photographing wildlife, landscapes, and community events—largely self-taught and driven by curiosity. Upon returning to the United States, she attended photography school and went on to work with a group of historic newspapers in the Washington, D.C. area. Today, Lynne is especially drawn to candid, natural photography—portraits, events, and quiet in-between moments that reflect authenticity and genuine human connection. Her work seeks to document life as it unfolds, honoring real emotion, story, and presence.
