More about Raymond V....

What do you love about your job?

I love to be able to be as creative as possible while partaking in my passion. Not many people have the privilege to say they could do the same, which is why I appreciate this profession so much more. I love being able to express my own individuality and creativity but also be a master of my craft and being able to be paid to so. I love the idea of creating amazing, lasting memories for people that will live on forever in the form of the photos I take.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done several different types of shoots, from weddings, maternities, engagement, senior photos, and many many more. I pride myself in being a photographer who sees each shoot as more than just another job for money, but a way to challenge myself and grow as an artist. I try to do something different and unique for each shoot and personalize them in any way I can. For example, during the initial contact with the couple, I like to ask about their interests, what type of aesthetic they like, if they're a part of any fandoms, etc. Myself being a massive geek and collector, I love to incorporate things such as lightsabers for couples who love Star Wars, and other objects that personalize the shoot for each client. In addition to using lightsabers, I make sure each client also brings any objects they hold dearly, such as ultrasound photos for maternity photos, balls and/or jerseys for athletes who are graduating, etc. By buying props and encouraging each client to bring anything they'd like to the shoot is one of the many ways I express how passionate I am about what I am doing.

A fun fact about this photographer

One fun fact about myself is that I have recently started a new hobby of toy photography. I recently got into it after discovering it on Instagram and ever since then, I've been hooked. Being able to create worlds and scenarios with characters from my favorite universes such as Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and combine them together while working on photographic and lighting techniques at the same time is a dream. I really enjoy the lighting aspect of it, doing this has taught me a lot about mood, atmosphere, and lighting to create the perfect scene, as well as making each shot as realistic as possible.
