More about Ryan C....

What do you love about your job?

I got into photography because I love to connect with people and make them laugh. I always wanted to entertain people and as a photographer, not only do I get to do that, but I also create. It's my job to set the right mood for the shoot and it's so much fun to do and see people have a good time.

I enjoy having the opportunity to create beautiful moments that can last a lifetime. Photographs have the power to evoke emotion and bring a sense of joy to the world. I get excited to bring something to life using all the creative tools available to me such as lighting, color, tone, and composition. At the end of a photoshoot, I am always amazed by the photos and can't wait to share them.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

When doing portraiture or lifestyle I do whatever I can to make people feel comfortable. For example, when I was doing corporate headshots, I was having a hard time getting one woman comfortable - she hated being in front of the camera. So I switched roles. I handed her my camera and told her to take pictures of me as I posed. Thankfully, she laughed, started having fun, and completely loosened up. The result was outstanding!

I also enjoy portraying different characters, talking in accents, and speak to people constantly while I'm shooting in a more relaxed and casual setting.

For brands, I think I make them special by extensively researching their website and Instagram. I get a feel for their look and try and create something new but that also fits in their aesthetic. An example is a shoot I recently did for GT's Kombucha. I sent them a few photos of what I did and they asked if I could create more with different products. It's a great feeling to go above and beyond and wow people with photos.

A fun fact about this photographer

When leaving a voicemail to any friends or family, I always do a different accent or character from a movie or show.

For example, I have friends with kids that have asked me to be Mickey Mouse and talk with them. It's been a while since I've done that, but it always worked!
