How did you get started with photography

I’ve always been that person with a camera in hand at family gatherings, friends’ parties, and work events — quietly documenting moments while everyone else was living them. In 2010, I decided to turn that instinct into something more than a passion and stepped into photography as a full-time career. To make sure I wasn’t simply romanticising the idea, I enrolled in photography courses and gave myself the space to truly explore it. It didn’t take long — I was completely hooked. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I began my professional journey in street fashion photography, drawn to the energy of real people, personal style, and the subtle details that reveal character and individuality. I’ve always been fascinated by uniqueness — the way someone stands, moves, dresses, and expresses who they are without saying a word. Things began gaining momentum quickly. I still remember the excitement of seeing my first work published in Yen Magazine in 2010, followed by Vogue Italia in 2011. From there, opportunities continued to grow in ways I never could have planned, leading to features across a range of respected Australian and international publications. What started as a passion project has since evolved into a career built on curiosity, connection, and a genuine love for capturing people at their most authentic.

What do you love about your job?

The best part of being a professional photographer? Without a doubt — it’s the people. Every shoot brings a new connection, a new energy, and a new story waiting to be told. I have the privilege of meeting incredible individuals and turning fleeting moments into something timeless through a single frame — or sometimes an entire series of them. More than simply taking photographs, I’m deeply drawn to storytelling — capturing moments as they truly are: honest, expressive, a little raw, and beautifully unique. Every person carries their own story, and I love finding creative ways to translate that into imagery that feels authentic, artistic, and alive. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing clients experience their final images for the first time — the smiles, the surprise, the quiet confidence, and the “wow, that’s actually me” moment. That shared excitement never gets old. For me, photography is about more than creating beautiful images. It’s about connection, emotion, confidence, and preserving memories in a way that can be felt long after the moment has passed.

What are some of your favorite places in Sydney to take photographs?

My go-to photo spots in Sydney? Easy. Lavender Bay is at the top of my list. With the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and the lush charm of Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden, it’s a dream backdrop that works for everything—weddings, engagements, portraits, family, maternity, even fashion. Morning light here is soft, clean, and effortlessly flattering, while sunset brings that golden glow and perfect rim light that makes images feel cinematic. Another favourite? La Perouse Beach—especially at sunset. Think raw coastal textures, open skies, and that warm, glowing light that elevates every frame. It’s the kind of location that turns moments into statements—perfect for weddings, engagements, and maternity shoots that feel both natural and striking.

The beautiful Harbour, the lush blue sea, the unfolding petals of the Opera House, the magnificent Harbour Bridge and most importantly the bright, clear sky throughout the year - these are the things that symbolise the City of Sydney. There are very few metro cities in the world where fascinating views of rock, mountain, river, ocean, forest and urban fabric lies together - Sydney is one of those and that certainly makes it the best choice for product photography.
